ACE O'HURTS #11
Name/Number and the story behind it: I've had the nickname Ace for as long as I can remember. I just added the O'Hurts to derbify it. As for the number, aces can be valued at 1 or 11.
Birthday/zodiac sign: September 6/ Virgo
Day job: I'm the lead receiver in a grocery store, Which basically means I push a pencil around and keep vendors in line. Also, I'm a Psychology student at the University of Akron.
How did you get into skating: Quite a few years ago, I ran across a reality show on Roller Derby that definitely intrigued me. At the time, I didn't have a fixed schedule, so I kind of shoved it to the back of my head as another dream. Then this summer, my husband and I watched the movie Whip It. When it was over, he asked if I still wanted to be a roller girl. I said, "Heck yeah!" He pulled up RCRG and told me they were looking for members. I then proceeded to go to a bout, a "Meet and Greet," and another bout. I then went to boot camp for the team and never looked back!
Hobbies: My hobbies include spending time with my family: my husband and our eleven year old son. I enjoy gardening, karate, reading and garage sales. I love to see what people try to sell and what they value their George Foreman grills at!
Pets: Two cats, the Princesses Nibbles and Snickers of the meow meow kittydom and one turtle named Bones.
Favorite thing to do at practice: I love all of it, even the burns!
Likes: Skating, of course!
Dislikes: The Cold!
