The Rubber City Rollergirls is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and our mission includes giving back to the community, particularly causes that affect women and children. We do this through charitable donations, fundraisers and most special to us, our "Skate for Kids" program, which provides special skating events for homeless and other at-risk children, free of charge. Listed below are past fundraisers, events or contributions that we have been able to make thanks to our fans, sponsors, skaters and volunteers. Together we can make a difference! A portion of our proceeds goes towards charity.
"Skate For Kids"
This program was born from what began as a simple idea: provide a free skating party for underprivileged kids. In November 2008 we held our "First Annual Holiday Skate for the Kids", hosting 105 children for a free evening of skating, pizza, holiday ornament making and...fun. The positive feedback we received was tremendous, with the most common theme being that these children just really needed some fun in their lives and the ability to just "be kids". This program continues to be successful and with sponsors', skaters' and volunteers' help will be continuing this program annually.

Portion of all proceeds from the evening went to the Make a wish foundation of northeast Ohio. If you could make one wish... what would it be?
Wish granting starts with the Make-A-Wish Foundation asking this wonderful and magical question that empowers a child's spirit. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. It is through the magic of an out of this world wish that the Foundation gives a family hope, strength and joy to briefly alleviate the stresses of a serious medical condition.
